INDUCTION PROGRAM

On commencement of studies at the Angel Hair & Beauty Institute, each student is provided with induction training that is aimed at familiarising the student with the curriculum, equipment, facilities and teachers.  This induction helps to make the student comfortable with this new environment, knowing what is expected of them and gives each student the opportunity to ask questions early in their training.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) refers to recognition of competencies currently held,

regardless of how, when or where the learning occurred.  Under AQTF, competencies may be attained in a number of ways – including formal or informal training, education, work experience or general life experience.  In order to grant RPL, the assessor must be confident that the candidate is currently competent against the endorsed industry or enterprise competency standards or outcomes specified in AQF accredited courses.  The evidence may take a variety of forms and may include certification, references from past employers, testimonials from clients and work samples.  The assessor must ensure that the evidence is authentic.

GRIEVANCE POLICY

One of the many requirements for a registered provider is to ensure that students have fair and reasonable access for dealing with grievances and to provide a pathway for students to appeal against decisions, which will affect their progress.  A full copy of the Institute’s Grievance Policy will be provided upon interview/enrolment.

ACCESS AND EQUITY PRINCIPLES

The Institute will ensure that access to programs is available to all persons regardless of age, colour, gender, and or race or social / ethnic background.

The Institute will ensure that disadvantaged groups have access to training.

The Institute will not discriminate against trainees on the basis of age, colour, race, gender or employer.

The Institute will closely monitor all advertising and promotions to ensure that they are free of discrimination against any person.

RECOGNITION OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

The Institute provides education and training opportunities for people who tend to experience educational and social disadvantages, such as people who have a disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and speakers of languages other than English.

Our Institute aims to demonstrate the maintenance of professional competencies and knowledge relevant to both literacy, numeracy and the teaching of each through teachers’ participation in relevant in-service training and by active participation in an adult literacy and numeracy teaching network.

MUTUAL RECOGNITION

The Angel Hair & Beauty Institute recognises and accepts the credentials issued by another registered training organisation based in State/Territory of Australia.  This can include a Statement of Attainment for specific qualification such as a Certificate or Diploma.
