This qualification prepares you for the entry level skills required in a hair salon as a salon assistant. You will learn how to provide assistance with blow drying hair,braiding,applying basic treatments on hair,client services and a lot more. You will undertake routine and repetitive tasks under direct supervision and guidance from our trainers in our simulated Hairdressing Salon.
This course is intended to prepare you for further studies and training. The skills and knowledge you will acquire do not provide for a job outcome as a hairdresser.
Entry Requirements
Prospective students are must be atleast 18 years of age
To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Angel Institute will conduct a Pre-Training Review
Students will need to be at least at ACSF level 2 in all the core skills to be able to enroll in this qualification without any additional support required.
* Individuals who are qualified in Certificate II in Salon Assistant, wishing to complete Certificate III in Hairdressing, will gain credit transfers into the qualifying course.
Vocational or Educational Outcomes
After successful completion of SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant, students can find employment as a salon assistant or enrol in SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing at Angel Institute.
Course Duration
The program duration is 6 months. Classes will be held 2 days a week. Students should also set aside 4 hours per week for self study time
Delivery and Assessment
SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant is delivered as face to face delivery in a combination of classroom and simulated salon envrionment. Assessment method includes Written Questions, Observations and Portfolios.
