This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Prospective students are must be atleast 18 years of age
To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Angel Institute will conduct a Pre-Training Review
Required to complete the Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment, administered by and to the satisfaction of Angel Institute

COURSE DURATION
The program duration is typically 12 months. Students should also set aside 4 hours per week for self study time.
DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT
CHC30115 Certificate III in Individual Support is delivered as face to face delivery in a combination of classroom and simulated environment. Assessment method includes Written Questions, Observations, Case Studies and Projects. Practical workplacement forms part of the course

PRACTICAL WORKPLACEMENT
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. Students are required to undertake supervised practical placement in relevant aged care, disability or home and community care settings. Evidence provided by the supervisor will contribute to assessment of the candidate’s ability to work at this level.. Students must also have a valid Working with Police Check before starting placements.
